What inspires you?
Mixing colors and textures, but mostly by the Bride and Groom and how they want their event to “feel”.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
My two dogs Rudy and Spike have me wrapped around their little paws! They are hilarious and a constant source of joy!
What is the most unique thing about you?
Probably that I was raised in South Dakota, have lived in London, New York City and Seattle and have come “home” to build my business in Minneapolis.
Who is your favorite sports team?
Vikings and the Celtics (sorry T-wolves!)
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Lake Como, Italy. The flowers, mountains and water are unbelievably beautiful.
What is your most cherished possession?
My grandmother’s art work. We shared a love of flowers, art and travel. Reminds me every day how lucky we were to have her here with us until the age of 103!
If you could describe yourself in 2 words what would they be?

What inspires you?
Weddings! I know, I know—token answer, but it’s true. I have always loved weddings, in fact I used to cut photos out of magazines and make wedding scrapbooks, and this was when I was like ten years old. I love that each wedding is unique to the couple and whether it is simple, elegant, extravagant, intimate or big time they are all beautiful.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
Yes! I have a three-year-old puggle named Bailey. I treat her more like a human-baby than a dog, but when you’re that cute you deserve to get spoiled. She’s known around the office as “Schoob.”
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
I am in love with New York City. I love all of the history, all of the energy, the amazing restaurants. I love that you can walk two blocks and be in a completely different neighborhood with its own unique charm. I love that every time you visit you could go all new places. I truly love everything about it, even that stinky sewer smell.
What is your most cherished possession?
My wedding band. The ring was actually my grandmothers and she gave it to me for my twenty-first birthday. After my husband proposed he had it restored and added stones to it. I love looking at my left-hand and being reminded of my grandparents and their amazing relationship and now my husband and our marriage.
What has been your favorite wedding and why?
I would be lying if I didn’t say my own. I was just married on November 5, 2011 and the day truthfully could not have gone any better. It was everything I had always dreamed of and more. So cheesy, but I mean it.
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
My favorite quote is from Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” I’m a dreamer and I like to think that dreaming has got me to a pretty good place and will continue to. However, my personal motto is “When life is down and brings the blues, shop for shop for shop for shoes.”
What are your hobbies, outside of your business?
I am a die-hard Golden Gopher football fan. I have had season tickets for the past 9 years and have been to three away games and a bowl game! My closet consists mostly of maroon and gold and my fiancé even proposed on the fifty-yard-line of TCF Bank Stadium.

I have 4 daughters, 3 married in one year – we had to find their individual styles.

Yes, 4 daughters and 12 grandkids – 6 boys, 6 girls… I’m sure I have some artists in the group!
What is the most unique thing about you?
I am driven to help others and passionate about their dreams.

Playing dress up.

Yes, Faces Etc, of MN is working with a group in Batam, Indonesia on Human Trafficking - we are very involved in this most impoverished nation in the world – I am going again in May and we are going to help build an Orphanage.

Two beautiful baby girls. Natalie (2 years) is my little strawberry-blonde with all the personality and determination that comes with her hair color. Giatta (10 months) is full of energy and continuous smiles. They both light up any room – steal the hearts of those they meet.

Passionate & Genuine
What are your hobbies, outside of your business?
I love to be active… through fitness (especially running), traveling, spending time with friends and family, meeting new people, shopping, decorating…. the list goes on and on. I’ll try anything once
Are you involved with Charity work? Tell us about it.
Yes, I donate a portion of each commission to Children’s Miracle Network, which locally goes to the Gillette Hospital. I also am involved with Habitat for Humanity and have helped build houses in Minnesota + 4 other states.
What is your favorite color?
Pink, pink and more pink. Good thing I have little girls!!

If you could describe yourself in 2 words what would they be?
I model my business after my two strengths. The two traits/words are “honest” and “consistently diligent!”
What is your favorite childhood memory?
There are two childhood memories. The first was constructing my very first wear-able dress at the age of 13. The second was growing up with 9 siblings and forming teams for multiple sports.
Who is your favorite sports team?
I am a sports fanatic, which comes to light through my fitness training business. Whether it’s a simple weight loss plan or an extravagant athletic goal, I’m here to make you better! My favorite sports team would be the Minnesota Machine… showing my loyalties to my favorite Women’s tackle football team here in the Twin Cities!
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
Everything I do is a reflection of my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Without him I could do nothing. With this faith I humbly trust where he leads me.
What inspires you?
What inspires me the most is helping people! Either by helping them reach their personal goals or assisting in altering clothing.
How did you get your start in the business?
A good friend encouraged me to begin my own business because I have talents that are rare for an individual. I began sewing clothes at a very young age.
What is the most unique thing about you?
My past has molded me into who I am today. Growing up Amish has helped me have strong values and talented skills.

A brief introduction to Training Day:
In a time when society is filling us with countless obligations, there is little time for yet another commute to a fitness center or alterations shop. With the increase of heath and fitness awareness on the rise, you are now able to turn to a new avenue of consistent fitness protocols that meets with you at the most convenient location; your home.
Research shows that as few as three percent of regular gym members actually reach their targeted goals. Many only attend up to two months after they obtain their fitness membership and continue paying gym fees for years. How did you get your start in the business?
I have always wanted to be in the bridal/wedding industry. I started working at a bridal store during college, and fell in love with it. While still in college my family and I came across Raffine Bridal for sale! My mother and sister said that they would love to do it with me, so the three of us have owned it together for 3 years.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
I have a dog named Millie, she is a yorkie. She only weighs 6 pounds, but she thinks she is much bigger. She is very fearless for her size.
What is your favorite color?
Pink, all of my kitchen small appliances are pink and if I could paint the store pink I would!
What is your favorite movie?
The Wedding Planner, I watch it all the time.
Who is your favorite sports team?
Minnesota Twins
If you could visit any place in the world where would that be and why?
Monte Carlo, France. I have always wanted to visit France, and Monte Carlo looks like it has the perfect mix of beaches, shopping and history.

Interview with Matt Garceau
What inspires you?
Light.
How did you get your start in the business?
I started shooting weddings for Camelot in 1998. For 10 years I got free film, free processing, free camera gear, free computers. It was a fantastic place to hone skills. In 2008, I purchased Camelot Photography from the original owners and we are now entering our 15th year!
If you could visit any place in the world where would that be and why?
Although weddings make up the bulk of my spring, summer and fall work I am also a contracted assignment and stock photographer with experience shooting in over 40 countries.
My images have been used for book covers, magazine covers, editorials, advertising and gallery prints. I was also a Winner in the 2008 PDN/National Geographic World In Focus Contest.
My favorite place, at the moment, are the Temples of Bagan in Myanmar (Burma).
What is the most unique wedding you have been a part of?
One moment that was incredibly unique occurred at an estate in northern Minnesota. The bride and her father flew into the ceremony on a float plane! They landed on the water… tied the plane up to the dock… then walked down it arm in arm to start the ceremony. A fantastic surprise for the groom and the guests!
Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
I do have kids! I have three beautiful daughters… Salem is 3, Tess is 8 and Tyrah is 14. They keep our home life incredibly busy!
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
Whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
What are your hobbies, outside of your business?
I enjoy collecting antique knives, sleeping in hammocks, playing with my girls and beer.

A brief introduction to Camelot Photography
Founded in 1996, Camelot Photography was a pioneer in developing a more relaxed, candid approach to wedding photography by specializing in photojounalism and natural, modern portraiture. Our style has always been different, as well as our business approach.
We at Camelot reject the outdated notion of photography packages which can be limiting and misleading. Instead we offer our services for an up-front service fee combined with a reimbursement for materials. As a Camelot client you own all of your negatives and original proofs, presented fully assembled in handsome black proof albums. We are happy to work with you after your wedding with very reasonable rates for reprints and finished albums or you may take possession of your negatives at any time.
Our ten photographers are experts in wedding photojournalism and excel at balancing the creative, technical, and people skills that are all equally important in wedding photography. It is also extremely important that you enjoy a personal relationship with your photographer. In addition to a free engagement sitting with your photographer you will work with him or her to determine a portrait list, ratio of color to black and white film and other stylistic elements. We prefer to do portraits in an hour or less (before or after the ceremony is fine) so that they reflect natural, relaxed expressions and so that you have more time to enjoy your day. In our candids we are able to capture the fleeting moments and emotions that tell the story of your wedding, which is the essence of wedding photojournalism. In addition to the individual attention of your chosen photographer we offer the service and security of a lager company—we always have a back-up photographer for every date.
