Who is the person you’d most like to spend the day with and why?
I would really enjoy meeting and spending the day with Ellen DeGeneres. Not only because she is hilarious, but because she also seems really down to earth.
How did you get your start in the business?
I had bad salon experiences in my youth. I was terrified to get a haircut because most of the time I asked for a light trim and had several inches taken off. I decided that I was going to be a cosmetologist and my clients wouldn’t have to worry about me getting scissor happy on their hair! I started working as a receptionist in a local beauty salon when I was 14, a freshman in high school and started cosmetology school at 17, two weeks after I graduated from high school.
Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
I am a very proud mother of three boys! Gavin (5), Isaac (3), and Caleb (1). Gavin likes to play sports and loves his superheroes. Isaac is our handyman and loves to fix things with his real tools. Caleb is our little peanut who started walking at 9 months just to keep up with his older brothers.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
I haven’t travelled to many different places, but I really enjoy going to Arizona. I love the warm weather and sun, and I also have family and friends to visit there.
What is your most cherished possession?
My most cherished possesion is a diamond ring that my great grandmother passed down to my mother and now to me. I spent a lot of time with my great grandmother growing up and I miss her everyday.
What is your favorite color?
Really tough question- Turquoise as a color in general… I think! I like the color black for cars, clothes and electronics…

Randy Fenoli (Say Yes to the Dress) He knows everything about wedding gowns and he is so nice!
How did you get your start in the business?
Love of sewing and creating gowns for our daughters
What is the most unique wedding you have been a part of?
That would be hard to say, they are all unique in their own way.
Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
Jenny: 2 boys, 3 girls. They are all very artsy and we made all of their wedding gowns, even daughters-in-law. They are all very musical. Mary: 3 daughters. They have a great love of animals (3 dogs/1 cat) and music!
What is the most unique thing about you?
Mary & Jenny are sisters and really complement each other.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Family get-togethers, we are the only 2 girls with 9 brothers, 63 cousins on one side and 45 on the other.

Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
I have a 10 month old named Blake! He is full of energy, curiosity and personality, and he brings more joy to our family than he could ever imagine. Being a parent is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but it is also the biggest blessing!
Who is the person you’d most like to meet?
I’d say right now, Kate Middleton. I love that she’s a classic lady in modern times. She seems gracious and warm and has great style! I’d love to chat with her about the royal family, the secret to her shiny long locks and her plans for the baby’s nursery!
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
This one is nearly impossible for me to answer because there are so many incredible destinations. For total relaxation, I’d say the El Dorado Casitas Resort in the Riviera Maya. For a week of delicious meals, the island of St. Maarten. For meaningful learning, Washington DC. And for a weekend for fun, I love Las Vegas.
What is your favorite quote or motto?
This is another hard question because there are so many inspirational quotes out there. I guess for me, it’s not being afraid of change. One thing I’m constantly working on is being more comfortable with spontaneity and the unknown. I spent a lot of time in my earlier years worrying about the things I couldn’t control and now I’m learning to ‘just go with it’ more as I get older. It’s so much more peaceful.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?
Definitely a tour of Europe, particularly the U.K., France, Greece and Italy. I’d love to see all of the sites & experience the culture and languages, while enjoying fabulous cuisine and wine all along the way

Interview with Karen Morris
What inspires you?
Stephen Jones, the famous British milliner, inspires me a lot because his work is extraordinary, simple, clean and high quality. His designs are unique, extravagant and experimental. Mr. Jones does a fantastic job of mixing little pieces of daily life into his hat designs, which I find to be exciting and inventive. He also changed the culture of wearing hats. To quote him, “A hat makes clothing identifiable, dramatic – and, most importantly, Fashion… It’s the cherry on the cake, the dot on the “I”, the exclamation mark, the fashion focus. Everyone from showgirls to dictators knows that by wearing a hat they will be the centre of attention.”
Who is the person you’d most like to meet or spend the day with and why?
The Queen, for sure! I’d love to see her hat and glove collections and talk to her about hat culture.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
Yes, I do. I have two Yorkshire Terriers. Their names are “BB” and “Mui Mui”. They are in my parents’ home in Hong Kong. I love both of them but “BB” is my baby because he lived with me for three years before I moved to America. I bought him from a pet shop, I saw him growing up every day. He was such a sad, weak puppy because he was the smallest pet in the shop and most of the time the other dogs ate all the food, leaving him none. When I saw him, I told myself that I must bring him home and give him a warm family and shelter. He’s going to turn five in January. He’s so adorable and smart, sometimes I’d say he is crafty… =) I love him, I love BB.
What is your favorite Childhood memory?
In Hong Kong, we are a multi-racial and multi-religious society. Christmas is one of our big festivals for celebration. My favorite childhood memory is when my parents took my brother and I to have a nice dinner on Christmas. Then we went to see the beautiful Christmas lights on the windows of all the tall buildings.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Barcelona, Spain. This is a great place to get art ideas on interior design, fashion design and architecture.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would that be and why?
Finland. Because I like to hide from the crowd once in a while to refresh myself and get new ideas for my hat creations. Plus, I just love the snow.
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
“No pain, no gain.“
What has been your favorite wedding and why?
The Royal Wedding. Because the hats were incredible.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by everything around me. From a design standpoint I really look for inspiration in magazines, in blogs, pinterest, from wallpaper and home décor… I am always trying to find fun new ideas to incorporate into my clients weddings.
Who is the person you’d most like to meet or spend the day with and why?
Oprah. I think that she is am amazing women and her passion and drive really inspire me.
How did you get your start in the business?
I started off in marketing and corporate event planning after college. After being in that field for 3 years I ended up moving back “home” to Minnesota where I got married and decided that I really missed planning events. After a little prodding from my family I decided to start “Lasting Impressions” and the rest is history.
What is the most unique wedding you have been a part of?
This last summer we had the pleasure of planning a surprise wedding in 7 weeks!! The couple told all of their friends and family it was an engagement party. It started with a fun cocktail hour and then we had everyone go over to the “ceremony” area. At that time the best man announced that the couple was actually getting married and the bride appeared in her dress and everyone was SO surprised!! It was a fun party and a fun surprise to be a part of.
Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
Yes. I have a little boy – Easton… He is now 10 months old. He is at the stage where he is crawling everywhere and very curious about everything!
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
I love the Caribbean- Grand Cayman, the Bahamas and St. Thomas are some of my favorite spots… but all I need for a great vacation is a nice beach and a lounge chair!!
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
A smooth sea never made for a skillful sailor.

Interview with Jenna Ferguson and Sari Lindeman
How did you get your start in the business?
Jenna: After graduating from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, I began as an intern at Bellagala winter 2010. I was hired on shortly after as a part-time Wedding Consultant, and slowly transitioned to a full-time Sales Coordinator. I also started doing Event Planning through Bellagala this past winter.
Sari: I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be a Sales & Events intern at Bellagala following college. I was able to continue with the sales team after my internship as a full-time employee. It’s the perfect fit!
What is the most unique thing about you?
Sari: I studied in Japan during college and I am able to speak fluent Japanese!
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Jenna: I have many great memories of family trips to Puerto Rico, to visit my grandparents who were “snow birds” there. Oh, and Barbies. I played lots and lots with Barbies with my sister Kelli, as a kid…
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Sari: Sitting on the dock at my family’s cabin on Lake Vermilion. The only things you see are boats, loons and water!
What is your most cherished possession?
Jenna: An inscribed rosary from my Nana that she had blessed in Rome, one for each of her 10 “grandbabies.” For the girls, it’s meant to be our “Something Old” when we get married… (hopefully someday soon)
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
Jenna: “Be happy for this moment, for this moment is your life.” I surround myself with positive, happy people who share this same belief! I’m also fond of, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” So true.
What has been your favorite Wedding and why?
Sari: My brother’s wedding in Portland, Oregon was a blast to be a part of. It may have actually been the first wedding where I never left the dance floor! To have all of our family and closest friends make the trip out there made it all the more special. Plus the scenery was breathtaking!
What is your favorite color?
Jenna: This is ever-changing, and usually can be determined by the color of my nail polish. Currently, it’s a “Caliente Coral” by OPI. Mint is pretty too!
Sari: Coral! It has a pretty and romantic feminine base with a splash of modern flair.

Interview with Tim Ellenbecker
What inspires you?
My goal is to enable people to personalize items to enhance their beauty and add personal significance. To that end, I enjoy playing with new materials and trying out alternative techniques to see what kind of effect can be achieved. Recently I was allowed to use a new software program that will replace a photograph with text, so that is what I currently am having fun experimenting with.
How did you get your start in the business?
I have over 10 years of laser experience and I have a very artistic family. When I decided to start my own business, it seemed natural to blend the two. Now with my laser engraver I have the opportunity to transform memories and create beautiful keepsakes for wonderful people and I couldn’t be happier.
What is the most unique wedding you have been a part of?
One of my college friends is a Muslim and a few years ago he married a lovely Jewish girl. Coming from a Catholic background myself, I was intrigued with the way the two of them blended different ceremonies and family customs into their wedding. The experience was delightful and educational … and a whole lot of fun.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
When we went to Portland, Oregon there was one attraction in particular that has stuck with me, the Japanese Gardens. Reportedly these are the best gardens outside of Japan, and they are truly beautiful. There were at least five distinct zones that each had their own unique look and feel. If you like tranquil surroundings and have even a passing interest in Japanese culture, I highly recommend it.
If you could visit any place in the world where would that be and why?
I think it would be fun to go to New Zealand and tour all the beautiful locations where the Lord of the Rings was filmed.
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
I like to say “Happy wife, happy life.” I am not sure where I first heard it, but when I bring it up I get such a wide range of reactions that it makes for fun conversation.
Are you involved with Charity work? Tell us about it.
I have been a volunteer Cub Scout leader for many years now. At one point I was mentoring over 50 boys, giving them opportunities to explore nature and learn new skills. Often I found that the parents were learning as much as the boys, though sometimes the lessons were different. I had one high spirited young lad that showed a significant amount of interest in geology during a cave tour; his parents and I decided to encourage this and quickly it became the boy’s best subject and a grounding point for improving his grades overall. Geology never did replace his first love (skateboarding), but then again it didn’t really need to. In addition to scouting, I am an active supporter of the American Diabetes Association. One of my little sisters was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in her early teens and our entire family has rallied around her.

How did you get your start in the business?
I actually hadn’t planned on event planning, but when I was done with school, this position opened up so I took it. I love doing what I do!
Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
I have one son, Jaxon. He is the light of my life. He’s 4, so very active, adventurous and fun!
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Arizona, because I get to see my sister.
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
“We must be willing to let go of the Life we have planned, so as to have the Life that is waiting for us.”
If you could describe yourself in 2 words what would they be?
Compassionate, Witty
What are your hobbies, outside of your business?
I love to paint, going for walks with my son, antique shopping
What is your favorite color?
Favorite colors are navy blue and purple. Easy to use on their own or mix with other bright colors.

Interview with Lisa Peterson
How did you get your start in the business?
Brothers Larry and John Benjamin purchased Northfield Lines on Jan 1, 1989, starting with just seven motor coaches and 30 school buses. Before buying Northfield Lines, John was an electrical engineer and Larry owned and operated a successful restaurant in Northfield. Over the years, the business has grown to 37 motor coaches and over 80 school buses. In 2011, the Benjamin Brothers were named “Business People of the Year” by the Northfield Chamber of Commerce and in 2012, Northfield Lines received the “National Motorcoach Operator of the Year” by METRO Magazine.
What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
“We’re the DRIVE Behind Worry-Free Travel!” We are committed to ensuring that your travel experience is positive. From your first contact, to your final destination, everything we do at Northfield Lines is geared towards providing you with safe, enjoyable, worry-free travel.
If you could describe yourself (or your company) in 2 words, what would they be?
Safe – Northfield Lines has always earned the highest Department of Transportation, Department of Defense and MN State Patrol inspections ratings. We have extensive, on-going driver training programs. We have a 24-hour maintenance facility and our mechanics adhere to a strict preventative maintenance schedule on all our vehicles. All our drivers have passed MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension background checks and are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings.
Reliable – We monitor traffic, weather and flight information to make sure our vehicles are there to pick you up on time.
Are you involved in any Charity work? Tell us about it.
Yes! Last Spring, owner Larry Benjamin was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He was a non-smoker. Before being diagnosed, Larry was involved with A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation, and after his diagnosis, it seemed natural to keep being involved. Sadly, Larry passed away from the disease in November, but his brother John and the rest of his family are still very much involved. This year, Northfield Lines is proud to be the title sponsor of the 2012 Twin Cities Lung Run/Walk on August 18. Last year the Lung Run/Walk raised $160,000 towards lung cancer research!
What is your favorite color?
We have two! WHITE – the color of our motor and mini coaches and RED – the color of our NL swish logo!
