Interview with Lucas & Ann Botz

 

Do you have any kids? Tell us about them.
We have 3 awesome kids!  Mia is 5 and is a sassy, stylish girlie girl who love to help and is a caretaker.  Shepard is our wild man.  He’s 3 and his nickname is “Danger Ranger”.  It’s fitting.  Gloria is 6 months old, and is hands down THE happiest kid ever.  We have no idea how the heck she is so amazing, but she is.  Ever see a baby smile while they whine?  Yah, she does.

What inspires you?
We’re inspired by joy.  Honestly, we feel it such an honor to spend any amount of time with a couple as they begin their life together.  Weddings can be stressful, dramatic, and tiring as much fun as they are.  We aim to take the couple that day, and allow them to spend time together, in love… celebrating their lives.  We try to eek out every ounce of joy from that day, capture it, and bring it back to them with a finished product.

Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
Moses the Pug is our “first baby”.  He was the trial run for kids, and ended up being way more spoiled than our kids.  If it were up to Anna, we’d have a small zoo.

Who is your favorite sports team?
We have a weakness for our hometown Minnesota teams.  Heartbreak and MN sports seem to go hand in hand, yet we hang on!

What are your hobbies, outside of your business?
Most of our free time involves family.  We love to camp together, cheer on our teams, Anna loves to sew, knit and get creative that way.

Are you involved with Charity work? Tell us about it.
We’ve been involved with a youth organization called Side By Side Ministries for over 12 years.  We are a family, and have been so blessed by the students we’ve gotten to know through our work there.  They do amazing work, allowing students to be known and loved for who they are, we are fortunate to be a part of it.

A little bit about Lucas Botz Photography:

We are a husband/wife team, mainly because we get to do our awesome secret handshake after amazing shots. 6 years of marriage & 3 kids later… WE STILL GOT THE HEAT!

We grew up in visual environments, Lucas being an art student, Anna with a photographer dad.

We are shoot-a-holics, and ever since picking up a camera, it has been the drug of choice.

We look forward to celebrating your wedding day with you, and capturing the moments you will have to look back on.

We live: St. Paul, MN

We work: Our Studio is located- 701 North 3rd Street, Suite 204., Minneapolis, MN 55401

We love: Family, travel, Legos, baking, baked potatoes & doing dinosaur impressions.

We use: The highest quality digital photography equipment. Nikon specifically.

Our Philosophy

Joy. We believe that photography should be about sharing, experiencing, spreading and catching Joy. Whether it be your wedding day, engagement session, family or senior portraits, let your true self be caught on camera. We believe it is important to have images that evoke memories, tell a story and declare who you are to the world- without words.
