I’d love to visit my motherland, South Korea!

I had an outdoor winter wedding that incorporated a horse drawn sleigh with their Lake Superior view ceremony site, breath taking!

What is your motto or favorite quote to live by?
“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in PINK. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing. Kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. Are you involved in any charity work?  Tell us about it.
Yes, I support an orphaned child in Thailand. I send $35 per month and she can go to school and buy clothing.

Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse State Parks are only minutes away and offer spectacular waterfalls, hiking, biking, and xc-skiing. What inspires you?
I love watching the personal growth that our clients go through during the planning process.  So often I see eyes wide open overwhelming brides show up at our door.  They don’t where to begin.  I love being a part of the process that brings them to a confident, calm, well-organized married woman.

What is the most unique wedding you have been a part of?
Generally, the Bride makes most of the decisions, only once have we had a Groom take 100% of the reigns.  The Bride wasn’t into the planning.  The Groom executed an amazing over-the-top celebration that will go down in history.

Do you have any kids?  Tell us about them.
Yes, a toddler boy and a 4-year old girl

What is your most cherished possession?
My photo gallery of dating, wedding and my kids.

What has been your favorite wedding and why?
I love the weddings that reflect the Bride and Groom, rather than tradition.  It’s fun to ‘shake it up’ a bit!

What are your hobbies, outside of your business?
My husband and I love to travel, play golf and cook.

Who is the person you’d most like to spend the day with and why?
I would really enjoy meeting and spending the day with Ellen DeGeneres. Not only because she is hilarious, but because she also seems really down to earth.

How did you get your start in the business?
I had bad salon experiences in my youth. I was terrified to get a haircut because most of the time I asked for a light trim and had several inches taken off.  I decided that I was going to be a cosmetologist and my clients wouldn’t have to worry about me getting scissor happy on their hair! I started working as a receptionist in a local beauty salon when I was 14, a freshman in high school and started cosmetology school at 17, two weeks after I graduated from high school.

Do you have any kids?  Tell us about them.
I am a very proud mother of three boys! Gavin (5), Isaac (3), and Caleb (1).  Gavin likes to play sports and loves his superheroes. Isaac is our handyman and loves to fix things with his real tools. Caleb is our little peanut who started walking at 9 months just to keep up with his older brothers.

What’s your favorite vacation spot?
I haven’t travelled to many different places, but I really enjoy going to Arizona. I love the warm weather and sun, and I also have family and friends to visit there.

What is your most cherished possession?
My most cherished possesion is a diamond ring that my great grandmother passed down to my mother and now to me. I spent a lot of time with my great grandmother growing up and I miss her everyday.

What is your favorite color?
Really tough question-  Turquoise as a color in general… I think!   I like the color black  for cars, clothes and electronics…

An outdoor ceremony at a vineyard with the reception in a glamorous white barn, where the wedding party consisted of professional musicians and ballroom dancers who delighted the guests with a performance.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Anywhere with water, a forest, a historic sight-seeing.  Minnesota and Colorado top my list.

If you could describe yourself in two words, what would they be?
Silly and sincere.

What is your favorite song?
Picking favorites of anything is impossible for me because I have a broad range of taste from pop to blues to folk to hip hop if I’m in dance mode.

That would be hard to say, they are all unique in their own way.

Jenny: 2 boys, 3 girls.  They are all very artsy and we made all of their wedding gowns, even daughters-in-law.   They are all very musical.  Mary: 3 daughters.  They have a great love of animals (3 dogs/1 cat) and music!

Mary & Jenny are sisters and really complement each other.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Family get-togethers, we are the only 2 girls with 9 brothers, 63 cousins on one side and 45 on the other.

Grandma’s cabin

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Cooking homemade raviolis with my Great-Grandma, Nana, Mother and now sharing this tradition with my three year old.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Disney World – we grew up believing in the magic & now as a mother of two girls we get to start dreaming all over again.  I loved Belle growing up and my daughter loves Ariel and Snow White!

If you could visit any place in the world where would that be and why?
Jerusalem and Galilee because those are my daughters’ names.

What is your most cherished possession?
My locket – it holds a photo of my Father.

“Live, Love and Capture” – it’s my slogan too!

All the homemade ones with plenty of personal character.
